I made a conscious attempt and no one on the planet can I say I didn't. All I hope is that my idee fixe returns so that there can be a sequel to the symphony. Every script up to now has prepared me for this scence and I knew my lines backwards and forward. But I tried something different. I decided to improvise. "STICK TO THE SCRIPT!!" that's what the director's been yelling at me, but I'm stubborn to say the least. I've got time before the curtain falls though. The script has been re-rehearsed and I'm ready to play my role, especially since the other actors seem to be sticking to their parts religiously. That's fine. I've got the best part in this show and it's time for it to be shown. It's not like I haven't been in similar productions before, because I have. I've had demanding co-stars as well, but this one appeared novice so why not try something different and put normal routine to the back burner. HA! Give em an inch and they want the New York Marathon. Blind, dumb, or naive are adjectives that have never been used to describe me. I've also never been upstaged and never will be. You were lucky to get a call back from casting. Funny enough the person first cast in the role was only removed from the production due to circumstances beyond all control. Well, well, well, can we say understudy? Now that those details have been cleared up, the question now is whether to continue the show or bring it to an end. Either way there will surely be no encore performance. No worries for me though, I always get cast in the next big thing, or the innovative indie. It's been a while since I've done a real musical, the last one had a pretty good run, so maybe that'll be the next audition. The nerve of an amateur trying to show me up. I think the show will go on and someone will have a chip removed from their shoulder, and when it's all over, roses will be thrown at my feet.
