Hey!

Thanks for stopping by! You’ll find poetry and travel blogs on my site. Hopefully, you’ll also find something you enjoy reading!

Abandonment

When you look up
And you're all alone
In the sandbox
Your greatest friends
Have given up on you
It time you pack up your toys
And go home
They don't want to play with you anymore
You can't help but wonder
What you did wrong
Or what you could've done differently
Was it so bad?
Were you so awful?
Did you create a burden so unbearable
That their only option
Was to abandon you
Like a baby on a doorstep?
When was it that they realized
You were no longer worth
Their time and effort?
That they could do better
Than little old you?
In the distance you can see them
Running away
With no intentions of turning back
You can't help but ask yourself
"Why aren't I good enough?
How can I be so repulsive now
When yesterday we were inseparable?"
It doesn't make sense to you
These are your pals
Nothing was supposed to come between
Friends to the end!
And this appears to be the end.
It's okay, kid
To pack up your toys
And go home.

Face It

But I Never Listen
