Recollections

I can't recall my last experience with sadness
Or at least with a sadness that took my heart from my chest
A sadness that consumed my sleep and my dreams
A sadness that caused me to question everything I believe in
I can't recall the last time I felt so out of control
The last time I felt completely helpless
Or the last time I felt defeated
Neither can I recall the last time I wanted to fight for something
The last time I believed in something so greatly
The last time I wanted something so badly
The last time I wasn't content with letting go
