The Art of Story Telling Part 9

"We made the mutual mistake of moving on
A shared secret but both were wrong
If I never say it
If you never say it
Does that mean it's not meant to be said
A path we wanted to follow
But feared to tread

And I remember the first day we met. I thought to myself  "Where has the universe been hiding you?" but it didn't matter because there you were. And then we were friends and I had some of the best times with you."

"At that moment I put my pen down. I knew if I kept writing I'd reveal the secret that we already knew, but refused to speak. I'd say how I always wanted more than our friendship. That we both wanted more but were afraid to lose what we already had. And by saying that I'd do what we'd desperately been trying to prevent. So I took the half written letter, balled it up and threw it in the trash.

I picked up my phone and called my boyfriend. He didn't answer. So I called you."

"Oh, so what do we do now?" Eric asked although he knew very well what he wanted to happen next. He wanted Sierra to himself and that was nothing new.

"I'm not sure. What can we really do Eric? We both have significant others."

"Sierra, how significant can they really be, if we're even having this conversation?"

"So what, we're supposed to just throw away our relationships and run to each other?"

"Yes!"

"Eric -- "

"Stop. Just hear me out. You're not happy, or at least not as happy as you could be. I know I'm not where I want to be. Every time I see you I know that we messed up. We owe it to ourselves and each other to give it a chance. And we're not helping them by staying. "

"Ok, ok. Let's do it. Tomorrow I'll let Charles go. It's not really a stretch, but Michele loves you. How are you gonna handle that?"

Eric lets out a heavy sigh. "She'll be alright. She's a strong woman. I think she's still got feelings for Sean anyway."

*Cue the music.*
